Documents and models
A document register with version control, so everyone works from current versions. A viewer to open, review, annotate, and apply electronic signatures to documents.
Document control, project correspondence, and approval workflows across every organization on a project, set up so the project record stays clean.
Illustrative. Your own process is designed with you.
Oracle describes Aconex as a cloud-based project management platform for engineering and construction. It centralizes the documents, correspondence, workflows, and decisions created across a project, shared between the organizations that work on it.
Each organization has its own data store, and information is visible to others only when it is explicitly shared with them. Documents and mail cannot be fully removed once added, and version history stays in the audit trail.

Email-style messages and forms for RFIs, instructions, requests and approvals, change management, and delay or extension-of-time claims, with dashboards for correspondence status.
Digital transmittals share documents between organizations and update recipients' registers as part of the audit trail, replacing manual sending and mailing.
Workflow templates define a fixed sequence of review steps for submittals, design reviews, and shop drawings, with visibility into where items are waiting.
An event log and mail record of what happened, with organization, project, and user-level access, so participants see what is shared with them.
A single page of each user's outstanding tasks, unread mail, pending transmittals, and reviews. Oracle also describes integration with Primavera Cloud schedules.
These describe what the platform supports. Your actual scope is set during assessment.
Aconex centres on documents, correspondence, and workflows shared between the organizations on a project. Unifier centres on an owner's cost control and business processes. Some projects use both, and an assessment decides where each record should live.
Each organization has its own data store. Documents and mail are visible to others only when they are transmitted or otherwise shared with them.
Documents and mail cannot be fully removed once added, and previous versions remain in the audit trail. That is why document types, metadata, and procedures are agreed before use.
Migration is part of our implementation scope: mapping, cleansing, loading, and validating documents and metadata. What can be carried over depends on the source and on Aconex's own limits, for example audit-trail history does not move between projects.
Yes. We design workflow templates with your document controllers and reviewers, rehearse them with sample documents, and train the people who will run them.
